Willie D. Perry, Sr., 90, of Middletown, husband of the late Florence (William) Perry, was called home to rest on Sunday, November 9th at two seventeen in the afternoon at Middlesex Hospital. Born on May 30, 1918 in Martin County, NC, he was the son of the late Betty Perry and George Anthony Nicholas. Willie was employed by Wesleyan University for 23 years before his retirement in 1992. Willie D. Perry, a Daddy, a Grandpa, and a Papa, was the patriarch of the Perry Family. His life exemplified wisdom, strength and the love of his family. He loved to watch wrestling, listening to Gospel music and riding his tractor. He was known as a man of few words but a man with a big heart. Willie was a great man, father, grandfather, big brother, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all. Willie is survived by his four sons, Bobby J. Perry and his wife, Olivia of Middletown, George Perry of East Hartford, Michael Perry of Middletown and Gary Perry and his wife, Carmen of Middletown; and three daughters, Eva Butler and her husband, Harvey of Brooklyn, NY, Annette J. Perry-Norman and her husband, Jake of Middletown and Stella Boxley and her husband, Donald of Meriden. He is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren, fifty-one great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sons, Willie Edward and Willie D. Perry, Jr.; two sisters, Judy Faye Barfield and Sadie Bell Roach; and three brothers, Samuel and Clayton Allen and Bozie Perry.
