William Wayne Lake, Sr. beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born November 29, 1939 to the late Daniel James Lake and Audrey Wright Lake. Wayne, as he was known by everyone, died on Friday, October 20, 2017 at his home in Denton, Maryland.
Wayne was a 1957 graduate of Lockerman High School, where he was employed at the time of his death. In 1960 he married the former Jeanetta Greene, who preceded him in death.
Wayne was a kind and generous person who loved life and everybody. Wayne was an active member of Bell’s A.M.E. Church, where he served on the Trustees Board. He was involved in many community and social activities. He was a member of the Caroline County Chapter of the NAACP, Lockerman Alumni Association and a mentor to many young men at Lockerman Middle School.
Besides his parents and wife, Wayne was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Bonnie, two sisters and two brothers.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memories two sons;
William Wayne Lake, Jr. and his wife La Carol, and Stanley Nadel Lake and his wife Deborah, six grandchildren, Brandon, William III, Daniel, Christopher, Stanley Jr., and William Oliver, five great grandchildren, three brothers; Russell, Leroy, Beverly, one sister; Doris Lake Beulah, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
