Hagerstown- William C. “Bill” Waltz, 76, passed away at his home in Hagerstown on Saturday morning, March 7, 2009. A son of the late Ralph H. and Beatrice Hennis Waltz, Bill was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on June 17, 1932. He has lived most of his life in Hagerstown and graduated from high school there in 1950. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged with the rank of sergeant on June 25, 1954. He retired from DANA Corporation in Hagerstown where he worked in Quality Control. Following his retirement he had worked part-time for Mahoney’s True Value Hardware, Nettle Creek Ace Hardware and Hartley Hills Country Club.
