William Wagner Miller, 94, of New Windsor, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center. Born January 23, 1923 in New Windsor, he was the son of the late Albert Miller and Fannie Wagner Miller. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Hubbard Miller.
In his early years he was a farmer in Carroll County and a Huckster in Baltimore City. He then went to work as a salesman for F.V. Vleck and Company. He served in the Army during WWII in the European and Asiatic Theaters. He was in the 3rd waved to come to shore at Normandy. He joined the Merchant Marines after WWII to return to Europe.
He was a member of the American Legion Carroll Post No. 31 and the New Windsor Vol. Fire Dept. He enjoyed shooting pool, watching NASCAR and golf and was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan. He was an original season ticket holder for the Baltimore Colts.
He is survived by sons William Ronald “Ron” Miller and wife Linda of Orlando, FL, James Albert “Jim” Miller and wife Jeanie of Westminster, 2 brothers H. Richard Miller of Finksburg, Gary Miller of New Windsor, 2 sisters Betty Coshun and husband Bill of Union Bridge and Ruthanna Vleck of New Windsor, 4 granddaughters Jennifer, Holly, Jackie and Jennifer Miller. Also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Gail Regina Miller and several siblings.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Maggie’s Restaurant, 310 E. Green St., Westminster.
