WILLIAM STAN VENABLE
Left to enjoy the memories of an amazing example of Godly perseverance, humor and patience are his wife of 50 years, Cheryl Sandifer Venable, and his children, Brad (Melissa) Venable and Jaimie Venable. His cherished siblings are Rod (Bridget) Venable, Kathy (David) Thibodeaux, and Paula Wheat. His in-laws were sibling extensions: Sylvia (Jerry) Scott and Kenny (Annette) Sandifer. Also blessing his life were many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Stan was our “miracle man,” having survived medical issues for the last 27 years that would have taken out most. He was fiercely protective of his loved ones and of any underdog. He loved to eat good food and drive cars really fast. He was so proud of his children and loved to hear them share their musical gifts. Always an optimist and completely dependent on his Lord Jesus Christ, he never gave up as bad health robbed him of his youth and strength before old age did. He was a mighty prayer warrior, maintaining a journal of hundreds of names for which he prayed every day.
Special thanks to the excellent medical professionals who helped Stan live far longer than any of us dreamed he would: Dr. Paul Walker, Dr. Ryan Majoria, Dr. Bradford Smith, Drs. Deepak, Jasti and Khouri, Dr. Gary Field and many others who ministered healing to his body through the years.
