William Smith Rutledge

A native of Sumrall, MS, he was a Regional Director for the AWIU and a member of First United Methodist Church. He served during WWII, and was stationed at Supreme Allied Headquarters. He was a member of the Moses Cook Lodge #111. Bill was past president of the Sons of the American Revolution, John Wheat Chapter. He was chaplain of the VFW Post # 3804, and the American Legion Post # 73. Bill was also past secretary of the Mississippi Masonic Home Association. He was a very active member of the Picayune Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bishop L. Rutledge and Amanda Harrell Rutledge, his wife, Katherine Hart Rutledge, and 4 sisters, Catherine Miller, Mary Keller, Geneva Miller, and Victoria Vanderpool. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Yuspeh and husband Wayne, and his son, Mark Rutledge and wife Ellen; his grandchildren, Michael Yuspeh, Sara Dick and husband Randon, Arielle Yuspeh, Amanda Rutledge, Joseph Rutledge, and Victoria Zemke; his great-granddaughters, Isabella Dick, and Emma Claire Dick; and his Lady Friend, Juanita Gex.
