William S. Hanna, age 66, a resident of Pasadena for 28 years, died on September 26, 2014 after suffering for four months from complications of heart surgery.

He was born on April 19, 1948, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to the late Josephine and William A. Hanna. A graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School, he went on later to attend college at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore. In 1968, he enlisted in the US Army, serving a tour in Vietnam, for which he received the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals. He continued service in the reserves until 1974. He worked for Maryland Drydock, the US Coast Guard, and for the US Department of Defense at the Naval Academy for more than 35 years. He enjoyed softball and flying ultralight airplanes, but his passion was golf. A member of the US Naval Academy Golf Course, he was a serious player who won numerous awards and championships.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Joseph Hanna.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years: Peg Crocetti Hanna; his daughter Ashley Jillian, and his nephew/son AJ McKay Armstrong.
