William Singleton Dodez, Jr., 84, of Plainville, passed away on Saturday December 3, 2011 in Bristol Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Joan (Bochenek) Dodez and son of the late William S. Dodez, Sr. and Anna (Schulz) Dodez.
He was a Marine Corps Veteran who served in the World War II era. He was a two-time past president of the AARP #4146 of Plainville and faithfully and enthusiastically competed in the AARP golf league even through this past summer. He was a member of St.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Timothy Joel of BelAir, MD; daughter Leslie E. Nichols of Plainville; loving granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Allison and Corey Hannah of Hamden; Kristen and Scott Wich of Hamden and Tori and Matt Untiet of Orange City, FL; and joyful great grandchildren Charlie and Violet Wich and Timothy and Wyatt Hannah. In addition, he is survived by brother –in-law Anthony Bochenek of Middletown; sister and brother-in-law Richard and Barbara Uterstaedt of Newington; sister-in-law Florence Sollars of Maitland, FL; Aunt Helen Schulze of Pawcatuck; many nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Baumann.
