William Robert Hoover, 62, passed away at his home in Gary, IN. May 31, 2012 of natural causes. He was born March 27, 1950 in Hebron NE. to Eldon M. & Betty J. Hoover. He attended grade school in Belvidere, NE. In 1961 his family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where Bill attended Horace Mann Junior/Senior high school. Bill served in the military from 1967 until 1970 as a 11-B Infantryman. After his discharge, Bill moved to Chicago & lived in several places in that area. There he pursued a career as a Cement Mason working in the Chicago area & various other locations around the country. Bill was a member of the Concrete Masons Local Union #692 where he retired in 2010. During that time earning himself the knick name “Ochet”, short for ricochet. It was also there that Bill met Terri Rusinski & to this union two children were born, Todd & Nikole. Since his retirement Bill was recently looking forward to moving home to NE. to be near his family & pursue his hobbies of fishing, gardening & landscaping. Bill was also a serious Nebraska football fan.
He is survived by daughter Nikole Streight & grand daughter’s Zoe & Nadia of Peoria, Il. Son Todd Rusinski of Metamora, Il. Brother Randy Hoover Schererville, Il. Sisters Cindy (Hoover) Sydow of Seward, Ne. & Sandra Blake of Belvidere, NE. Neices Tanya (Merriman) Keller & husband Randy of Denton, NE., Samantha (Hoover) Baughard of IN. & Amber Wellman of Broken Arrow, OK. Nephews Shayne Sydow of McCool Junction, NE., Bryan Byzcko & wife Vanessa of Hobart, IN., Dusty Blake of Belvidere, Ne., & Maxwell Hoover of Schererville, IN. Great Nieces & nephews, Sarah Schumm, Brendon Keller, Summit Sydow, Amanda, Lauren & Thomas Byzcko, Chance & Robbie Jr. Baughard & Temperance Wellmam.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eldon Hoover & Betty Hawkins, grandparents Grace and Seth Hoover, James Beardon, Sarah & husband Merle Williamson and his brother Jack Hoover.
