William Richard Evans (Dick) passed away peacefully at the age of 87 surrounded by family on Friday, February 15th, 2019 in Pocatello, Idaho. Dick was born April 21, 1931 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Oscar and Helen Evans. Dick was a loving brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was the third of six children. He grew up in Boulder, Wyoming in the wide-open spaces of the Wind River mountain range, hunting elk, roping bears and roaming the Wind Rivers
Dick married his High School sweetheart Ruth Helen Logan December 15,1951. Dick and Helen have been married for 67 years and have five children. Dick was a star basketball player of Pinedale High School. He even played against the Harlem Globetrotters. He joined the Navy in 1951 to serve his country in the Korean War and served as a Fire Control Technician on the USS Carmick. Dick served with his brother Bob on the same ship although it was against Naval policy.
