William Reuben Maestas, 86, of Denver, Colorado passed away on July 05, 2021. He was born in Salida, Colorado to Antonio Maestas and Maria Guillerminia Dominquez on September 06, 1934. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. After returning home, he worked various jobs eventually becoming a Barber and then retiring as a machinist. Growing up in Salida he enjoyed hunting and fishing practically in his own backyard and swimming in the Arkansas River. He married Virginia Leewaye on June 08, 1952. They raised three children and were proud grandparents to five grandchildren. He was also blessed with three beautiful great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and six siblings. He is survived by his daughters Terri (Paul) Mendez, Vicki Valdez and his son Joe (Patty) Maestas; grandchildren Vanessa (Joe) Rael, Rachel Mendez, Joshua Mendez , Matthew Maestas, Anthony Mejia; great grandson Ray Rael, Max Rael and Noah Duran. The family is forever grateful to the staff at Westminster Medical Clinic for the many years of kind and professional care that our dad received. We would also like to thank the staff at Collier Hospice Center for the care and compassion they provided in his final days.
