William Ralph Morgan, age 88, of Varnell, Georgia passed away at his home Saturday morning, April 3, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Hammontree; and sister, Mary Helen Hammontree. He is survived by his wife, Ysleta Morgan; son, William “Bill” Ralph Morgan, II and his wife Wilma Morgan; step-grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Cucksee, Tara Cucksee, and Jesse (Sarah) Cucksee; step-great grandchidlren, Alyssa, Ian, Luke, Maddox and Jackson Cucksee; sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Souther, Gladys Wilson, Doris Lee and Freda Thomas; several nieces and nephews also survive. Ralph loved his family, church, country and community. He was a member of the Varnell United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there for 40 years. He served practically on every committee of the church’s Board. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He was instrumental in obtaining the Charter for the City of Varnell, was a volunteer fire fighter for the City’s first fire department. He also served as its first City Judge and was the City Manager for several years. He also was appointed as one of two State Directors for Georgia’s Dixie Youth Little League Baseball organization.
