William R. DeSmit, passed away Sunday evening, November 10, 2013. Bill was born August 30, 1933 in Kalamazoo the son of William and Marie Colvin DeSmit. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he was employed with Western Electric now AT&T. Bill was an active member of Haven Church, where he enjoyed volunteering, and helped with building the new wing.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed cooking, and tomato gardening. On February 22, 1975 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Vicki, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Steve DeSmit, David DeSmit, Kelly Jim Novencido, Dale Kathryn Hesley, Daniel DeSmit, Michelle Joey Wiley; 11 grandchildren, Amanda, Courtney, Noah, Alexa, Daniel, Jakob, Sarah, Owen, Mia, Victoria, and Zachary; 1 great-grandchild; a sister, Patty Hazel; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Duane Worrall.
