William R. Barnes, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. He was born January 30, 1927 the son of the late Clifton and Thelma Roberson Barnes. He attended Dupont High School prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Following the war, he graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute in 1951. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in Korea. He also graduated from the Nashville YMCA Night Law School while beginning his 37 year career with State Farm Insurance.
