William Leroy Paul, 86, of Madrid, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Bill was born October 27, 1934, in Seattle, WA , son of Clarence Walter and Marguerite (Middleton) Paul. The family moved to Des Moines when he was a young boy. He served in the US Army at Fort Bragg, NC from 1955 to 1957. On April 4, 1958, he married the love of his life, Judy Rose in Madrid, IA, and to this union, three children were born.
Bill worked at Iowa Window Cleaning, Vy Lactos Lab, and Firestone Tire and Rubber all in Des Moines. After retiring from Firestone after 25 years he continued to stay busy working at Signs Plus.
He enjoyed hunting, trapping, and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Judy of 60 plus years, parents and his siblings.
Left to grieve his passing are two sons, Dennis Paul of Ogden, IA, Billy Paul of Indianola, IA, and one daughter, Linda (Jason) Bottjen of Garden Grove, IA, two step-grandsons, Mike (Becky) and Matt (Margaret) Heasley, five grandsons, Jared Perkins, Cody, Jesse, Jacob (Nikki), and Noah Heasley, one granddaughter Michaela Heasley, five step great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great grandson and many nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
