William P. Templin, 74, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, June 12, 2021, in Peoria.
He was born May 21, 1947, in Jacksonville, the son of Raymond P. and Claire Lynette Colton Templin.
He is survived by two brothers, Michael Templin of Lakewood, CO, and Thomas Templin of Jacksonville; three nephews and one niece, Philip (Linda) Templin of Centennial, CO, Geoff (Amy) Mills of Peoria, Lydia (Joshua) Templin-Collins of Springfield, and Patrick Templin of Clearwater, FL; his godson, Dustyn Smith of Peoria; many great nieces and nephews and a great godson; and his best friend, Jo Ellen Waltrip of Jacksonville.
Mr. Templin was a 1965 graduate of Routt Catholic High School, and then graduated from Illinois College in 1969. He was the owner/operator of several area bars, including The Regulator, The Recovery Room, and Rascals, all in Jacksonville, and The Regulator II in Macomb. He was an avid fan of football, the St. Louis Cardinals, and sports in general. He was also an avid weightlifter and lifelong physical fitness buff. Bill’s family is grateful for the love and support of his lifelong community, and his many business partners and friends. Known lovingly by his family as “The Big Easy”, Bill was fiercely autonomous, a savvy businessman, and a loyal family member and friend.
