William O. “Bill” Camp, Jr.

William O. Camp, Jr., or “Bill” as he was known to many, was born January 10, 1940 at Perry County, Arkansas, the son of W.O. Camp, Sr. and the late Velva Huggins Camp. He was a United States Navy Veteran and was retired from automobile sales. He was skilled in woodworking and made some beautiful pieces of furniture and he enjoyed taking care of his dogs. Aside from his family, his greatest joy was making music. He was a gifted guitarist and in his early years, Bill, along with his brother Jim, opened for such artists as Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton, as well as appearing on the Tommy Trent Show.
Mr. Camp died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, at the age of 75. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Camp and Gary Camp, sister, Elaine Bennings, and a grandson, Mark Camp.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Watson Camp of Prattsville; father, W.O. Camp, Sr. of Prattsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Sheila Camp of Prattsville, Johnny and Toni Camp of McRae, and Rick and Debbi Camp of Jacksonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Walt Wynne of Baltimore, Maryland, Debbie and Mike Monniere of Elk City, Idaho, Barbara Grant of Hillsborough, Oregon, and Mystie Camp and husband Kenneth Small of Prattsville; sisters, Lynda Camp of Prattsville, Betty and husband Howard Lybrand of Mountain Home; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
