William N. Hancock passed away peacefully Wednesday January 7, 2015 at his home in Burlington Township at the age of 85. Born in Burlington City, Mr. Hancock was a graduate of Burlington City High School and The College of South Jersey. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer the USS Lowry during the Korean War.

William was employed by PSE&G as a shift supervisor where he spent most of his time at the Mercer Generating Station, Hamilton Township, NJ. He was a Master Mason, member of the Shrine, Past Patron of Beverly Maqueda #276 OES. Mr. Hancock was preceded in death by his wife Iris and sister’s Margaret and Ethel. He is survived by his daughter Karen L. Hancock of Mt. Laurel, his sons Gary W. Hancock of New York City, NY, Jeffery H. Hancock (Angela) of Blackwood, NJ, 2 grandchildren; Jared and Julia Hancock, brother-in-law Irv Leibowitz, and many friends.
