William Mercer Brown, age 83, of Union Point, Georgia, died on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA. A lifelong resident of Union Point he was born January 27, 1930 to the late Marion and Susie Smith Brown. He received his education from Woodville and Union Point schools. Mercer served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War from 1951 to 1956. He married the former Jeanette Bonner on September 24, 1955. Mercer drove for Reese Oil Company, Stewart Oil Company and Lawrence Oil Company for forty-six years retiring in 1994.
