William “Billy” McGowan, 71 died on Sunday Jan. 20, 2012 at home in Kearny.
He was born in Jersey City and lived in Harrison before moving to Kearny 48 years ago
Mr. McGowan was employed as a roofing contractor for many years retiring 20 years ago.
William is survived by his daughters Janet Allan (Stephen), Laura McGowan, Sandra Richardson (Michael) and Mary Wilczek (Christopher); his siblings Katherine Smith, Lorraine Suckiel and Howard McGowan; six grandchildren Stephen Allan, Alyssa, Brittany and Hannah Richardson and Jeremy and Jacob Wilczek. He is also survived by his former wife Mary “Marilyn” (Ford) McGowan and leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son William J. Jr. and his sister Elaine Tuite.
