Mr. William “Maurice” James was born September 21, 1986, in Savannah, Georgia to Dan James and Williemae Gordon. He departed this earthly life and transitioned into eternal rest on March 4, 2022.
Maurice was educated in the public schools of Liberty County. From a very young age, he developed a love for the outdoors. He grew very adept working with his hands which lead to a business repairing motors and ATVs. He was also the proud owner of M&S Unlimited Pressure Washing. In his free time, Maurice enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, and grilling. With his larger-than-life stories, infectious laugh, and humor, he had a natural ability to make everyone feel welcomedand was frequently the life of the party.
Maurice was preceded in death by his father, Dan James; his son, Malik Golden; his paternal grandparents, William and Katie James; and his maternal grandparents, Perry, Sr. and Claudia Gordon.
Maurice leaves behind to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Sheree James; two loving sons, Perry James and Wyatt Green; two precious daughters, Treasure and Claudia James; his beloved mother, Williemae Gordon; a granddaughter, Island Jemison; three brothers, Kegan (Darlene) Gordon, Justin Gordon, and Martin James; two sisters, Hope (Nate) Lloyd and Faith Gordon; bonus son, Rawhiem Walthour; bonus daughters, Aleshia, Shaquia, and Indanaisjua Golden; his mother-in-law, Ida Biggins; his father-in-law, Roy (Ilene) Biggins; surrogate fathers, Perry Gordon, Jr. and Kenneth Gordon; four brothers-in-law; eight sisters-in-law; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, all of whom will miss him greatly.
