William “Sonny” Markham Jr, 77, of Alexandria, passed away on September 18, 2019, at his residence. He was born on May 17, 1942, in Anderson and resided most of his life in Anderson. Bill served his country in the Armed Forces from 1961 to 1964.
He retired from the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors as a supervisor of electronic components. Bill attended Central Christian Church and he enjoyed drawing, writing, going to plays, playing poker, and nature.
He is survived by his son, Trey(Shanna) Markham, and daughter, Angela Markham; grandchildren, Peyton Markham, Samantha Coon and Anthony (Felicia) Fricke; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Stanley.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William L.and Marie Markham; brother, Raymond Paul Markham; sisters Francis Burkhart and Daisy Clem.
