William was born the son of the late Charles and Irene (Kind) Dickman on Sunday, March 14, 1937, in Buffalo, NY.
William grew up in the Buffalo area graduating from Clarence High School. He would graduate from Erie Tech College with an associate’s degree in Engineering. William was an Engineer for both Xerox and Corning Glass until his retirement in 2012. William was a gifted mechanic who could fix anything. He enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing.
William will be remembered by his loving wife of 53 years, Alice O’Neill Dickman; children Dawn Watson, Melissa (Michael) Baccari, Thomas Carpenter, Amy (David) Peek, and Michael (Cori Hannah) Carpenter; grandchildren Brendan, Sara, Matthew, Brian, Michelle, Rachel, Tom Jr., Valerie, Jeremy, Kelly, Colin, Corey, Kaden, Cassidi; several great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Judy) Dickman; sister, Mary (Skip) McElhinny; many nieces and nephews.
William was predeceased by his son-in-law, Bruce Watson.
