He died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Chase Center.

Born April 4, 1919, in Rochester, he was the son of Elzie and Myra P. Moon Blackburn.

Mr. Blackburn had been employed at Chrysler Casting Plant in Kokomo, retiring in 1981. He was a member of UAW Local 1166. Mr. Blackburn also farmed and was a Minneapolis Moline tractor enthusiast. Many years ago he was a member of the New Waverly Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Sue Blackburn, Logansport; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Sue “Susie” and John Musselman, Logansport; brother, Robert Blackburn, Wabash; sister, Betty Clevenger, Warsaw; two sisters-in-law, Tish Blackburn, Rochester, and Anne Blackburn, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Joanie Rans and her husband Jeff, Tammy Baumgardner and her husband, Gary, and Daniel Musselman, all of Logansport; great-grandchildren, Mickayla, Matthew and Michael Rans, Tyler and Trever Baumgardner and Paxton Musselman, all of Logansport; stepgrandchildren, Melinda Young and her husband, Kent, Hugh Gibson and his wife, Cindy, and Melissa Buck, all of Greentown; stepgreat-grandchildren, Zachary, Trevor and Conner Young, Wryan, Caleb and Braden Gibson, and Dylan and Austin Buck, all of Greentown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Blackburn and John Blackburn, and sister, Elizabeth Ann “Sally” Zeller.
