Lakeland – William “Lewis” Roper, Jr., 65, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014, as a result of respiratory failure.
Mr. Roper was born January 5, 1949 in Kinston, NC. He and his family moved to Haines City in 1956 where he spent the next 45 years until settling in Lakeland in 2001. He was employed as a meat cutter until his retirement in 2003.
Mr. Roper is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Judy Roper; daughter, Melissa Nelson and her husband, Justin; sons, Richard Roper and his wife, Jacquelyn and Kevin Williams and his wife, Crystal; mother, Doris Roper; brothers, Billy Wayne Roper, Harvey Roper and his wife, Lisa and Ray Roper; granddaughters, Elizabeth, Haley and Makayla “KK”; and grandsons, Tre, John, Troy, Seth and Hank.
