William Lewis Bates 82 of Center Point Community passed away November 16, 2013 at his residence with family by his side. He was born March 1, 1931 in Center Point, WV, son of the late Rex David and Eula Virginia Starkey Bates. He retired as a plant operator from Union Carbide in Sistersville, WV. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Mary Loueen Seese Bates; two daughters, Katherine “Kala” and Joyce Bates, both of Center Point; three grandchildren, James William Marple and wife Rebecca; Center Point, Angelina Selby and husband Joey, TN; Scotty Dryden, Center Point; 2 great grandsons, Gunner and Nikolas and one on the way; one sister, Betty Bates, PA.
