Salem William Lee Studley,88, of Lake Floyd passed away on January 16, 2011 at United Hospital Center following an extended illness. He was born December 16, 1922, in Weston, WV, the son of the late Helen Stealey Studley and William Lee Studley, Sr. He is survived by his wife Alta Gainer Studley whom he married April 20, 1944; a son, Terry Studley and his wife, Linda, of Monroe NC; and a daughter Annette Coan and husband Jack also of Monroe, NC. There are three grandchildren, Kim Lucas, Sabrina Clontz, and Ryan Studley; and great-grandchildren, Bradley and Brendon Messer, and Marissa Clontz. Bill was a veteran of World War II having served in Italy in the Army Air Corp.
