William L. Rice, 82, of Newnan died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at his home. He was born January 26, 1926 in Coweta County to the late William Daniel Rice & Eula Abercrombie Rice.
He was a WWII veteran who served in the Navy. He owned his own delivery route that serviced Penny’s Cleaners in Newnan and was an active member of Mills Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife, Hazel Payton Rice; sons, Johnny (Charline) Rice, Randy Rice, David Rice, all of Newnan; sisters, Florence Hammett of Sharpsburg, Thelma Sweatman of Talladega, AL; brother, Steve Rice of Roanoke, AL; grandchildren, Christy Henry, Sandy Shell, Kelly Arrington, Scott Rice, Jeremy Rice; and ten great-grandchildren.
