William Louis “Butch” Morez, 64, of Fortville, passed from this life into the waiting arms of his Savior on February 25, 2017. Butch was born December 3, 1952, the son of Louis Morez and Josephine (Johnson) Morez, in Pana, Illinois.

Butch graduated from Pana High School and later received an Associate’s degree in HVAC from Ivy Tech, Indianapolis. Butch was employed by Merchants Plaza as a building engineer until his recent retirement. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and great uncle. Butch never met a stranger and was always willing to share a laugh and conversation. A life-long train enthusiast, Butch enjoyed spending time building model trains and restoring the full size caboose in his back yard. He also enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, cooking, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts.

Butch was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fortville, where he served in many capacities, including chairman of the trustees. Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Tena (Richmond) Morez, whom he married April 14, 1984; beloved daughter, Katelyn Marie Morez of Fortville; mother, Jo Morez of Pana, Illinois; sister, Diane (David) Slater of Pana, Illinois; niece, Stacy (Dan) Dick of St. Louis, Missouri; nephews Scott (Joanne) Slater of Bermuda and Jared (Stacy) Buckley of Greenfield; great-nephews – Elliott Dick, Logan Slater, Dexter Buckley; great-nieces – JoJo Dick, Keira Slater, Addison Buckley. In addition, Butch is survived by his father-in-law, Gene (Ella) Richmond of Carthage and sister-in-law, Lisa (Paul) Christenson of Knightstown.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Morez, his mother-in-law, Judith Richmond, and infant son, Jason Louis Morez.
