William L. Highman, age 75 of Ashland, OH., passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at Hospice House of North Central Ohio. On May 28, 1935 in Ashland, OH., Mr. Highman was born to the late Oliver and Luella (Matheney) Highman. He had been a resident of Ashland all of his life where he formerly worked at General Latex. In 1965 Mr. Highman formed the Stone Mountain Boys which were the stars of the WWVA Jamboree in Wheeling, W. VA. He was a member of Brookwood Way Church of Christ in Mansfield, OH., and a veteran of the US Air Force and Marine Corps.
Mr. Highman is survived by 3 sons: William “Rick” (Jennifer) Highman, Chuck (Cheryl) Price both of Ashland, and Larry (Janie) Price of Mansfield; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Don Highman of Ashland, John Park of Ashland, Oliver Highman of Florida, Eugene Watkins of Ashland; 6 sisters: Mary Highman of Gross Isle, Michigan, Martha Highman of Ashland, Shirley Watt of Lincoln, California, Pat Morr of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Donna Kissel of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Carol Campos of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Besides being preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Highman had 2 brothers that preceded: Larry Highman and Bud Smith.
