William L. Brooks Sr. was born on May 31, 1944. In Fort Morgan, Co to his parents Russell Brooks Sr. and Medora V. Brooks (Bentley). William was the oldest of his younger brother, Russell W Brooks II. He brought a lot of love & joy to his family. Growing up and in his teenage years, he was involved in ROTC and graduated Manuel High School which led him to join the Marines Corps in 1961. He retired from the marine’s which led him into his late years, he had developed a passion for home economics which led him to pursuing various careers in culinary arts.
William also had a personal relationship with the lord growing up.
William loved his family & cared a lot about others. He was a Denver Native who loved & supported all his home teams. He was one of the biggest Broncos fans and his passion was Nascar racing, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of his favorite racer’s. He also loved going to the dog track.
His children have many memories of their father taking them to the dog track, traveling and catering food at events. In the late years before his wife passed, they loved going up to the hills to the casino. He grew a passion for poker and hosted poker nights at his favorite bars: Fatboys and Sports Station where he had many many friends at other bars.
William was admitted to the hospital on April 25th where he became a little too ill and his death was very unexpected & devastating to his family on Friday May 14, 2021.
William was preceded in death by his parents & his wife Anna Jane Brooks.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his brother , Russell W (Carol) Brooks II, his sister Lynda Hilburn, his brother Paul Hilburn Sr. five children: Rolanda (Maurice) Wade , Rhonda Brooks Walker, William (Juanita) Brooks. Jr, Charles Brooks, & Bridgette Brooks. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
William will be missed but not forgotten in our hearts. We all thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the love and legacy William left us.
