William Lloyd Henson, known as “Placerville Bill”, passed away shortly after midnight May 19, 2016. He was with family the night of his passing.
Bill was born in Anaheim (formerly Orange), California on March 1, 1951 to James and Elva Henson. The youngest of eight children, he grew up traveling with his family. In the fifth grade, he met Sheri, who was in the third grade, at Butte View Elementary in Emmett, Idaho in 1961. Later, they met again through mutual friends in 1970, and were then married April 5, 1971.
During his life-long marriage to his love, Sheri, he had two children: Tammy and William Jr. They moved to Idaho, to stay, in 1974. They lived in Placerville for decades until 2014, when he and Sheri came to Emmett for health reasons.
Bill enjoyed listening to Paul Harvey and other talk shows. He was an avid hunter and fisher, and enjoyed small engine repair. His lifelong passion was working as a mechanic. He spent a great deal of time with good friends at the Dirty Shame in Crouch.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; two grandchildren, CheyAnn and Destiny Dye and a dear daughter-in-law, Kimberly Henson.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Sheri; two children, Tammy (married to Roger Dye) and William Jr.; grandchildren, Jacki Pope, Roger Dye, Morgan Dye, Ryan Dye, Riley Dye, Nicki Stanfield, Danny Stanfield, Scott Loader and Monte Loader. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Horizon Home Health and Hospice, especially to the nurses, Robin and Ginger.
