William King Haines, 90, of Scottsdale, AZ and formerly of Camden, ME and Dayton OH, passed to new life in Christ on May 11, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He carried his cross of Alzheimer’s disease with amazing courage. He was born July 20, 1930 in West Carrollton, OH, the son of Carl Sr and Louise Haines. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years Rita, his 2 children Chris Haines (Mary) and Holly Majcher (Paul), and 6 grandchildren; Molly, Meghan, Emily, Billy, Christopher, and Caroline. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Carl Haines Jr., Doris Myers, and Angie Croghan. He served his country in the Air Force then entered the workforce as an artist with the Dayton Daily News. He transitioned into banking and spent 25 years with Gem Savings rising to SVP of Human Resources. He was a member of the Miami Valley Personnel Association (Dayton OH), Camden Rotary Club (Camden ME), and Pen Bay Hospital Board (Rockport ME). Bill was admired by all for his devotion, integrity, graciousness, and virtuosity. His greatest love after his family was art. He was a brilliant water colorist and sold his paintings at galleries and art shows in Maine. His art is a lasting legacy treasured by his family.
