William Kent Parker passed away on October 1, 2021, after struggling for many years with Crohn’s Disease. He was born January 14, 1948, in Ogden, UT, to William Smith Parker Jr. and Alice Velma Gunnell Parker. He married the love of his life, Marianne Wiser Parker, on December 16, 1978, in the Ogden Temple. They were married for 32 years before Marianne lost her battle with cancer in 2011. Kent spoke often and fondly of his wife and missed her dearly.

Kent graduated from Weber College (now Weber State University) in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Business. He worked at the Ogden Defense Depot and at Hill Air Force Base as a computer programmer, a department manager, and a contractor until his retirement from federal service in 2008.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, fulfilled several callings such as executive secretary and as a local seventy, and supported the BSA program. He was also an active member of the local community and supporting his children’s interests. To do so, he spent time in several coaching and instruction positions alongside his dedicated wife.

Kent loved spending time with his family and some of his favorite memories with his children and his wife include time spent at Disneyland and Disneyworld, time spent boating on local lakes and reservoirs, and weekends spent outdoors camping.

Kent is survived by his children: Brad W.
