He was born on February 6, 1918 in Indianapolis, Indiana. William graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine, Class of 1942 He was a retired Anesthesiologist at St. John’s Hospital and Community Hospital. He was Past President of Medical Staff at St. John’s Hospital, Anesthesia Chief at St. John’s Hospital, Past President of Madison County Medical Staff, Past Vice President of Medical Staff at Community Hospital in Anderson, and Physician for Anderson University. He was a member of Central Christian Church where he served as a Deacon in Anderson, Anderson Elks, Kiwanis Club, and was a 33rd Degree Mason.
William is survived by his 4 daughters, Barbara P (David) Maine of Noblesville, Judith A Harper of Boonville, Mary H (Robert) Utterback of San Antonio, TX, and Susan Kracke of Pendleton, IN; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Ora E Patterson, mother, Edna Marie Patterson; wife, Mary H. Patterson; 2 sisters, Elma F Patterson Walker, and Jeanne Patterson.
