William Junior Rozendaal was born on October 11, 1927 to Walter and Margaret Baarda Rozendaal near Lynnville, Iowa. He passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Hospice Comfort House in Pella at the age of eighty-one.
Junior was the oldest of six children. He attended country school near Lynnville until the eighth grade. On February 17, 1949 Junior was united in marriage with Geneva June Arkema at her parents’ home in Sully, Iowa. To this union six children were born. Junior farmed for fifteen years before operating the Rozendaal Construction Company for over thirty years.
Junior loved reading and being outdoors. He always took pride in and enjoyed his work.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly sixty years, June, and his six children and their families. Junior is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Marge and Wilbur Van Dusseldorp, Junella and Peter Lanser, Maurice and Linda Rozendaal, Harv and Mary Rozendaal, and Rodger and Vicki Rozendaal; his step-mother, Hendrika Rozendaal; and his step-brothers and sisters: Linda and Dick Schnell and family; and Jim and Sheryl Van Soelen and family.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved grandson, Aaron Rozendaal.
