William John Ashton, age 83, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Brendan House in Kalispell, Montana. He was born October 30, 1926 in Hopewell, New Jersey to Elijah Rittenhouse and Ethel (Sked) Ashton.
William graduated from the University of Virginia, and received his MBA from NYU. He served during World War II in the Canine Corps. On September 10, 1955 he married his loving wife Nancy (Wallace) Ashton in New York City, NY.
William enjoyed fishing, chocolate, history and story telling. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Ashton of Kalispell, MT, & Carefree, AZ, two daughters; Lisa Ashton Lindsay of Milwaukee, WI, Cary Ashton Saunders and husband Peter of Kalispell, MT, a son; Mark D. Ashton of Arlington, VA, and a sister; Janet Ashton Arrington of Princeton, NJ, three grandchildren and other extended family.
