William J. Schweikert, 72, of Palmer Township, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 after injuries sustained when he was hit by a car on March 7, 2012. He was the former husband of Betsy Wolf. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late William A. and Ruby (Bryant) Schweikert. He served his country in the U.S. Marines and later with the Navy. He attended Penn State University and worked for the Federal Government as a data analyst with the Department of Defense for many years before retiring in 1999. Prior, he worked in various capacities for the Department of Transportation. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem. Survivors: William is survived by his 3 beloved children, Gary Bankston of New Tripoli; William “Dan” Schweikert and Elizabeth “Beth” Schweikert both of Palmer Twp.
