William Roddie, Jr. was born in Plattsburg, Missouri, on  July 6, 1944.  The son of Hattie Cook-Roddie and William Roddie, Sr., he was raised by his aunt, Dorothy Grayson.  As a young teenager with a desire to change his life, William  became a student at Job Corps and learned cooking as a trade. 

 

William began his work career in Columbus, Indiana with Cummins and Arvin’s briefly; however, his biggest aspiration was to be in business for himself.

 

Children and young people had a special place in his heart.

 

William was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Brenda Roddie, who he married on October 16, 1982, and his daughter, Teresa Roddie.

 

William Roddie, Jr. departed this earthly life on December 3, 2017, at the age of seventy-three years four months and twenty-eight days.  His survivors include sisters, Bertha               Cunningham, Debbie Anderson, Willa Pritchett,Velma Brown and Regina Rawlings; brothers, Lee and Brian Grayson and his surviving children, Elliott Roddie (Linda Roddie), Steven Roddie (Patty  Roddie), Kelly Roddie, Dietta Roddie and Keia Roddie; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and loved ones.
