LYON, William J. of Portage Passed away April 22, 2009 at his home. Mr. Lyon was born February 13, 1932 in Kalamazoo, and has been a resident since. He had several jobs including the paper mill, Motor Equipment over 20 years and driving cars for local dealerships. He was a Golden member of the Eagle Lodge 526 of Kalamazoo, Michigan for 40 years. He was preceded in death by a son, William Lee Lyon in 1952; his loving wife of 37 years and the mother of his children, Agnes Pauline Bellmer Lyon in 1989; and his second wife of 6 years, Janis Hiemstra Lyon, in 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Wendell J. Tony Lyon of Kalamazoo and Donald Carole Lyon of Vicksburg; four daughters, Paula S. Derby of Kalamazoo, Linda Wayne Montgomery of Gas City, IN, Cinda L. McNees of Kalamazoo and Donna M. Steve Ewell of S. Sioux City, NE; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and expecting two additional; brother, Robert B. Lyon of Iona, MI; sister, Mary Lou Vanderplug of Kalamazoo.
