William J. Hight, 81, Bradenton, Florida died December 8, 2008 after years of impaired health. He was born May 18, 1927 in Elwood, Indiana, and graduated from High School there.

Bill entered the Army and served as a MP in postwar Germany. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1981 and eventually made Bradenton, Florida his permanent residence.

His hobbies were boating at Lake Webster, Indiana where he helped family and friends learn to water ski. After moving to Bradenton, he enjoyed golf and bowling. Bill served at Whetstone Church in Anderson and at Golf Lakes Estates Retirement Community in Bradenton. He was a 50 plus year member of Elwood Quincy Masonic Lodge, Chapter & Council, Scottish Rite and Murat Shriners.

He was also a UAW member. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Hughes Hight; two nephews, Rodney Hight of Savannah, Georgia and Roland Hight & his family of Riverview, Florida and their mother, Joyce of Brunswick, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his infant son, William Jeffrey Hight; his parents, William C. and Goldie Lillian Miller Hight and a brother, Donald Hight.
