William J. “Bill” Frost, 82, passed away Wednesday evening, March 21, 2018 at his home after an extended illness.
Bill was born on December 3, 1935 in Bloomingdale, Indiana to Richard J. and Eleanor (Vance) Frost.
He married Lee Ann Youngquist on January 20, of 1978 in Elkhart. Surviving is his wife Lee Ann Frost; six children, Dwayne Frost, Teri (Ken) Showalter, Connie Ann (Craig) Pawling, Traci (Brent) Metcalf, Ronnie (Kim) Frost and Tammi Lynne Youngquist; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jerry (Pam) Frost and John Frost. In addition to his parents, a son James R. Frost, daughter Debbie Lynn Schaffer and 3 brothers, Darrell L. Frost, David L. “Old Man” Frost and Leon Frost preceded him in death.
After graduating from Rockville High School, Bill heard the call of duty and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957.
He went on to work for the railroad, including, New York Central, Conrail, Penn and retiring as an engineer from Norfolk & Southern after 30 years. He enjoyed camping and fishing, but most important to Bill was spending time with his loving family.
