William J. “”Bill”” Fisher, 73, of Huntington passed away at 8:26 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. Mr. Fisher was born September 30, 1939 in Huntington, IN to Edward and Juanita Ebersole Fisher. His parents preceded him in death along with his brother, Thomas Fisher. He married Sondra Foster on March 3, 1990. She survives in Huntington. Mr. Fisher attended Huntington Catholic School. Mr. Fisher served during the Korean Conflict in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper.
He retired as an electrician with Standard Electric. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN and a Past Commander for the VFW Post #2689, Huntington, IN.Mr. Fisher is survived by one son: Edward Fisher, Douglasville, GA; three step-sons: Michael Jay, Huntington, IN, Samuel (Sheila) Curry, Fort Wayne, IN, Charles Curry, Andrews, IN; two daughters: Tammy (Jeff) Pederson, Cottage Grove, MN, Amy (Shane) Austin, Union City, IN; and three step-daughters: Jean (Allen) Herd, Douglasville, GA, Sabrina Faust, St. John’s, FL, Kristy (Matt) Rawles , Albion, IN. Also surviving are two brothers: James (Martha) Fisher, Ashley, IN, Michael Fisher, Huntington, IN; and two sisters: Susie Dieringer, Huntington, IN and Mary Elizabeth “”Betsy”” (Rod) Sands, Huntington, IN. Mr. Fisher is survived by 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
