William J. “Billy” Decker, Jr., 46, of Bristol, formerly of Plainville, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in New Britain on July 16, 1965, he was one of two children to Carol (Rogers) Decker of Plainville and the late William J. Decker, Sr. Raised in Plainville, he was a 1983 graduate of Plainville High School, and fulfilled his passion for cooking graduating from culinary school. He worked as a chef for Miss Porter’s School, The Orchards and Village Gate, and enjoyed sharing his home cooked meals with family and friends. He also started his own catering business, Checkered Flag Catering, of which he was very proud. Billy enjoyed the outdoors, going for rides on his Harley, going hunting, fishing, and on family camping trips. He took the greatest pride in being a father to his three adored children, and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
He leaves his mother, Carol Decker and Alexander “Butch” Gudat, his children, Jessica and her boyfriend, Peter Sperenza, Jennifer, and William, III., all of Bristol; his sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Jim Kilmartin of Lowell, MA; his nieces, Meaghan and Shaela; his aunt, Terry Beaulieu, and many cousins and friends.
