UXBRIDGE- William J. “Billy” Brummitt, 82, of Uxbridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Bernadette C. (Hebert) Brummitt.
Born on February 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Lois R. Kachuk. He was educated in Franklin schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School.
During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Corporal.
Mr. Brummitt was employed as a machinist for Nu-Style in Franklin and in later years for Atco Plastics, Inc. in Plainville prior to his retirement. He had been a resident of Uxbridge for 20 years previously living in Bellingham.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Brenda Lee Vilt of Milford; one brother, Raymond “Jimmy” Brummitt of Tennessee; one sister, Mae LeBlanc of Bellingham; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Samuel and Spencer Vilt. He is also survived by his cousins, Lois Laviolette, Byron Pickering, Doris Correia, Charles Pickering and Helen Maynard and many nieces and nephews. He was the cousin of the late Mildred Beatty.
