Ankenbauer was born November 26, 1932, in Dedham, Iowa, the son of William S. and Nellie Opal (Bell) Ankenbauer. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Ankenbauer married Marilyn Coleman, August 2, 1953 in Livermore, Iowa. He worked for many years with Ford as a parts manager. His last position was with the Mid America Division in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Duncombe, Iowa and attended the First Christian Church in Belton, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son Scott Allen Ankenbauer in 1964. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ankenbauer of Belton; son William R. Ankenbauer of Belton and sister Zulabel Erickson of Gilbert, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
