William “Bill” Horace Murphy, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Born in San Marcos, Texas, on August 31, 1924, he was the son of Wayne Thornton Murphy and Blanche May Smith Murphy. A Veteran of the U. S. Air Force, he had retired from Civil Service with 32 years of service, and was then able to enjoy 35 happy retirement years with his wife at their Canyon Lake home. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, Waymon Thomas Murphy and Violette Murphy, and brother, James Edward Murphy. Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife of 70 years, Wanda Louise (Graves) Murphy; sister-in-law, Velma McMickell Murphy; sons, James Murphy and his wife, Mary, and Ronald Murphy and his wife, Janice; grandchildren, Wayne Murphy and his wife, Shannon, Margaret Tripp and her husband, Brian, Nina Wingrove and her husband, Christopher, and Tracy Reed and her husband, Kyle; Seven Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
