Mr. William “Mote” Harold Sharpley was born February 1, 1946 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Thurman and Sam Ellen Sharpley. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Church, where he served faithfully. He served dutifully as Deacon Chairman since 1999.
William was joined in Holy Matrimony to Brenda Elaine Carroll in December 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers — Paul M. Sharpley, Kenneth B. Sharpley, Herman L. Sharpley, Sr. and Willie Ray Sharpley, Sr., and one sister — Foree Sharpley Lampkin.
He leavers to cherish his memory a wife, Mrs. Brenda C. Sharpley; one daughter, Debra (Paul) Prince of Moulton, AL; two sons: Steven Muhammad and Corbett (Yvette) Ruthier, both of Dayton, OH; one step-daughter, Coretta (Troy) Carroll of Decatur, AL; two sisters, Bobbie Smith of Decatur, AL and Syronda Smith of Hartselle, AL; one brother, Dwain (Ossie) Sharpley of Decatur, AL; grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
William was loved and respected by all and will be dearly missed.
