William “Bill” Harold Bailey, 93, of Climax passed away September 30, 2019. He was born October 12, 1925 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late William and Rovina (Franks) Bailey. Bill was drafted into the US Army and served at the end of World War II, stationed in the Philippines. He was a dedicated man and worked both as a machinist at Clark Equipment and on his own 80-acre farm.

He was a humble, supportive and loving husband, father, and grandfather, often attending school and sporting events for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and watching other sports, such as the Detroit Tigers and Lions, as well as UofM football and basketball. Bill was also a longtime member of Galesburg Congregational UCC. During the past 30 years, he and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roy Bailey, Rex Bailey, Robert Bailey, Betty Wank, Thelma Mae Bailey, and Gertrude Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geneva Bailey; children, William (Sharon) Bailey, Brenda (Brad) Sutherland, Barbara (Leo) Pease, and Bruce (Ronda) Bailey; grandchildren, Courtney, Stacy, and Mitchell Bailey, Michael and Kyle Sutherland, Caitlyn (Josh) Tiller, Moriah (Jim) Goodall, Leo and Elijah Pease, Chelsey (Wyatt) Knapper, and Aubrey and Joel Bailey; great-grandchildren, William, Michael, Rylee, Everlee, Austin, and Bailey.
