William H. Smith, 79, died on Thursday, August 6, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Smith was raised and educated in Montgomery, Alabama. He joined the U. S. Navy at the age of 17, serving in the Seabees for 22 years as a heavy equipment operator. In 1951, Bill married Helen Boswell and in 1967 they moved to Fort Walton Beach.
